Is Primer Architect really free for academic use?
Yes — research labs, students, and individual researchers can use the Research tier indefinitely at no cost. We may introduce paid academic tiers if we add features that exceed our hosting envelope (very large custom genome libraries, dedicated GPU off-target screening), but the wizard and the curated reference panels will remain free for non-commercial use.
Do you charge per primer or per panel?
No. Pricing is per-seat for the Team tier, with unlimited designs. The compute cost of a single primer design is small; you should not need to ration runs to fit a budget.
Where does the data live?
Cloud Storage (us-central1) for FASTAs, Cloud SQL Postgres for project metadata. Designs are private to your account unless you explicitly create a share link. Enterprise customers can opt for a dedicated VPC and a region of their choice.
How do I order oligos for the primers Primer Architect designs?
You can export pool-grouped CSVs that drop directly into IDT or Twist's online order forms. A native one-click ordering integration is on the roadmap — contact sales if it would unblock a deal.
